Invitrogen says Express Kit provides competitive advantage
Invitrogen’s new GIBCO OptiCHO Protein Express Kit is one that can provide a "competitive advantage" for companies in the biotherapeutics sector, the company said this week.
The division of Life Technologies unveiled the product, which is an integrated solution for the efficient and easy development of stable serum-free cell lines, claiming it will also help to speed up the time taken for regulatory filings and marketing.
It is available for research use, although companies wishing to acquire a documentation package can obtain a commercial use licence for a one-off fee. They will not need to pay royalties or maintenance costs.
"As the regulatory climate for biotherapeutics continues to tighten, we are providing our customers a competitive advantage with improved product safety controls and cGMP documentation to support the development of therapeutic proteins in stable cell lines," said vice-president of Invitrogen Bioproduction Life Technologies’ cell systems division Christopher Linthwaite.
Last month, Invitrogen launched its Neon Transfection Device, which science sales professionals may be interested in due to its advertised ability to simplify DNA and RNA delivery.
