Takeda creates board to guide management issues

Takeda has created a committee that will provide the company with guidance on a number of managerial topics.

As well as incorporating members of the company’s current executive staff, the Takeda Global Advisory Board will also contain four external staff who have experience of working for global pharmaceutical companies.

One issue that will be discussed within the group is how a rapidly changing environment in the market is affecting innovative medical technologies.

The creation of the committee is to ensure the company has strong corporate governance to help it become a global firm.

President of the firm Yasuchika Hasegawa commented on the board.

“By leveraging the expertise of our external industry leaders, Takeda looks forward to continuing creating and marketing novel pharmaceutical products that meet the needs of patients globally,” he said.

Last month, the company announced it had begun work on its Kyoto Herbal Garden renovation project.

Part of the plan is to make further room for a collection of medicinal plants. The outdoor space is home to over 1,000 species.
