PerkinElmer unveils new hormone and endocrine disorders test-measure kit

PerkinElmer has announced the availability of its new test-measure kit, which is designed for the diagnosis of hormone and endocrine disorders.

According to the firm, the technology allows for more accurate and faster results for both children and adults undergoing endocrine testing.

The new Child Health System Steroid Profiling Kit and Data Suite software has the ability to simultaneously measure ten different steroids in biological samples and is the first commercial clinical endocrinology assay to do so.

Ann-Christine Sundell, president of genetic screening for PerkinElmer, explained: "As the global leader in utilising tandem mass spectrometry for newborn screening, deploying our expertise to support childhood and adult health is a natural next step within our spectrum of care."

As of July, PerkinElmer has a new chief marketing officer and senior vice-president – Lapo Paladini – who has worked within the ranks of the firm since 1982.
