Cardinal Health offers $1m grants to healthcare providers
Cardinal Health has launched its E Grant Programme and is inviting healthcare foundations and community clinics to apply for funding to improve efficiency and quality of care.
The deadline for applications to the E Grant Programme is October 30th 2009 and individual grants will be awarded with priority consideration being given to initiatives that improve the medication management process and the safety of operating rooms.
Since the scheme’s establishment, the foundation has awarded $2 million in grants to encourage innovative programmes at 68 hospitals, clinics and health systems.
Executive vice-president of public affairs and chairperson of the company Shelley Bird said: “By encouraging health care providers to implement programs that improve effectiveness, efficiency and excellence of care, we’re promoting best practices that help reduce the cost of health care.”
In other Cardinal Health news this week, the group announced that it has been chosen by group-purchasing organisation Novation to supply the firm with sole-source laboratory products until 2014.
