Daiichi Sankyo names new vice-president of medical affairs
Daiichi Sankyo has selected former Wyeth Pharmaceuticals employee Dr Jay Feingold as its new vice-president of medical affairs.
The healthcare firm has offered Dr Feingold a role which will see him oversee its clinical research activities, as well as giving him a place on its executive committee.
It highlighted his prior experience in the fields of oncology and haematology as key factors in his appointment, as it will allow him to assist the firm in the development of its cardiovascular portfolio.
Dr Feingold stated that he will be looking to ensure that Daiichi Sankyo’s medical affairs division continues to focus on the communication of important safety and efficacy information to clients.
He added: “I am very excited to join Daiichi Sankyo and look forward to working with my colleagues to continue to build relationships with healthcare providers to improve medical care and enhance professional education.”
Earlier this month, the company received approval from the Food & Drug Administration for the use of its hypertension treatment Benicar on paediatric patients.
