Simplyhealth highlights impact of poor oral care

27th May 2010

Simplyhealth has raised concerns over the number of UK patients who are going without dental care due to problems relating to cost.

The healthcare solutions company recently conducted a survey which revealed that 43 per cent of British patients in employment are failing to attend regular check-ups due to concerns over price.

This is despite research by the firm also suggesting that patients feel that their ability to succeed and progress in the workplace is strongly linked to the quality of their oral health.

Simplyhealth took the opportunity to reinforce the importance of proper dental care, highlighting the potential importance of schemes such as dental plans.

Raman Sankaran, spokesperson for Simplyhealth, said: “Everyone should be trying to look after their oral health for the benefit of their overall wellbeing.”

This comes after the company announced earlier this month that it has relaunched its consumer dental plan to make it simpler and more cost-effective.
