BD revenues rise in third quarter 2010
BD has published its financial report for the third quarter of the 2010 fiscal year, a period which has seen the company experience a year-on-year revenue increase.
The science and medical technology firm announced quarterly revenues of $1.9 billion (1.2 billion pounds), with gains recorded across its medical, diagnostics and biosciences divisions.
Over the course of the quarter, the firm was able to initiate a number of moves designed to strengthen its long-term profitability, such as the sale of a number of its medical segment assets, which will be completed in the next three months.
As a result of these trends, BD’s earnings performance for the nine-month period ending on June 30th 2010 remains ahead of the levels seen in the corresponding period of last year.
Edward Ludwig, chairman and chief executive officer of BD, said: “We are pleased with our results this quarter, with each of our three segments contributing to our growth.”
Last week, BD announced the appointment of UK-based marketing and healthcare veteran Christopher Jones to its board of directors.
