GE Healthcare unveils new vascular visualisation software
GE Healthcare has unveiled two new software applications designed to assist vascular visualisation during interventional procedures.
At the European Congress of Radiology in Vienna, the company introduced FlightPlan for Liver, which can be used to automatically extract the vessels in the vicinity of liver tumours and colour-code them for ease of visualisation.
Meanwhile, AngioViz provides a means of enhancing digital subtraction angiography data to offer an improved perception of vascular flow, with temporal and contrast intensity information displayed in a single image.
Chantal Le Chat, general manager of interventional radiology at GE Healthcare, said: "We are proud to offer our customers new information they will find incredibly valuable when planning and assessing complex interventional procedures."
Last week, GE Healthcare was visited at its Grove Centre research and manufacturing base by Earl Howe, the parliamentary undersecretary of state for health.
During the event, Lord Howe praised the company for its contributions to UK healthcare and solicited opinions on NHS reforms.
