Molnlycke details efforts to aid Japan earthquake relief
Molnlycke has highlighted the efforts it and its employees have undertaken to aid relief efforts in Japan since the devastating earthquake last month.
The company made a donation of 136,000 pairs of masks to the Tokyo Municipal Government following the seismic activity on March 11th 2011, with further plans to contribute surgical gloves and wound care products.
Due to the difficulty of transporting goods through the country at present, routes were established to carry the Molnlycke donations to the hardest-hit areas first.
Kanichi Ishii, country manager for the medical supplies manufacturer in Japan, added that staff are also volunteering help efforts to treat weak or elderly evacuees.
"Our people are committed and determined to support the company, our customers, injured people and rescue workers in any way they can," he explained.
This comes as part of the company's wider commitment to social responsibility, which has also seen it make significant reductions in its environmental impact over the last decade.
