TTP LabTech highlights biomolecular analysis benefits of Libra2
TTP LabTech is moving to highlight the potential applications of its Libra2 acoustic biosensor in conducting innovative biomolecular interaction analysis.
At the PEGS industry conference taking place this month in Boston, the company is showcasing a new application of the unit for the study of glycosylation patterns on cell membranes.
The device is able to utilise Resonant Acoustic Profiling to analyse the binding of label-free lectin on to immobilised mammalian cells, thus providing life scientists with a profile of glycolipoprotein and glycolipid expression.
This can be difficult to accomplish using traditional methods and can prove instrumental in the study of biochemical alterations seen in malignant transformation and tumourogenesis.
Dr Helge Schnerr, biosensor product manager at TTP LabTech, said this "may provide useful diagnostic or prognostic information in oncology research and therapy."
Last month, the company announced the addition of a new 561nm laser to its Acumen eX3 microplate imaging system, thereby improving its functionality.
