Thermo Fisher Scientific launches new mass spectrometry devices
Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the launch of several new innovations in the mass spectrometry field at a recent industry event.
The company attended the ASMS Conference on Mass Spectrometry and Allied Topics earlier this month to showcase new innovations that provide advantages in terms of speed, resolution and accuracy.
Among them was the Thermo Scientific Velos Pro, an anion trap offering that provides high-speed molecular structural elucidation, as well as the Orbitrap Elite device, which offers four times the speed and resolution of older Orbitrap models.
Other new products include the Q Exactive Orbitrap "quanfirmation" tool, the TSQ Quantum XLS Ultra triple quadrupole GC-MS/MS system and Easy-nLC 1000 liquid chromatography unit.
Marc Casper, president and chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "We are proud to be recognised as the leader in mass spectrometry technology and we significantly strengthened our position today with these cutting-edge product launches."
Last month, the company expanded its business reach via the acquisition of Phadia, a global leader in allergy and autoimmunity diagnostics.
