Agilent Technologies announces systems biology research grants

18th July 2011

Agilent Technologies has announced that it will be providing two grants for academic or non-profit research labs conducting system biology studies this year.

The life sciences firm will be allocating two funding pledges of $75,000 (46,600 pounds) each to principal investigators based in the US or internationally, with application submissions now open.

One will be provided for organisations conducting research into validating protein pathway information, while the other will support researchers seeking to combine gene expression and copy number variation data to model disease progression.

Agilent explained that it is offering this support in order to help stimulate the development of new open source data-integration tools.

Submission deadlines for the two grants will be August 12th 2011, with announcements of the award recipients to follow on September 30th.

Earlier this month, the company launched CytoGenomics 1.5, a new software system designed to help streamline cytogenetic research processes.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800624922-ADNFCR
