Janssen launches new hepatitis C awareness campaign

28th July 2011

Janssen has announced the launch of a new health awareness campaign to heighten the profile of hepatitis C and the treatments available for the disease.

A new website, HelpEveryPersonC.co.uk, has been launched by the company to provide facts about the condition and links to support services and patient groups, as well as offering a forum through which those affected can interact.

Giving access to downloadable materials and clearly laid-out information for both patients and carers, it will help to engage users with the subject and increase awareness of a condition affecting around 466,000 individuals in the UK.

The announcement coincides with World Hepatitis Day, which takes place today (July 28th 2011) and is sponsored globally by Janssen.

Anita Maghlaoui, a hepatology nurse specialist at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust, said: "It is crucial to help provide support and access to information and local networks for people affected by hepatitis C."

Earlier this week, Janssen was granted a recommendation by Europe's Committee for Medical Products for Human Use for approval of Zytiga, an innovative new prostate cancer therapy.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800637008-ADNFCR
