Actelion director departs company
Actelion has announced the departure of Joseph Scodari from its board of directors earlier this month.
Mr Scodari has stepped down from his position at the pharmaceutical company in order to dedicate more time to personal endeavours, a decision that has been accepted by Actelion.
Robert Cawthorn, chairman of the firm's board, has hailed the contributions made by the former director during his tenure, praising him for his dedication to the business and the respect he has commanded from other board members and shareholders.
"We have benefited tremendously from his strategic vision as well as his leadership skills, all based on a long and distinguished career in the healthcare industry," he added.
This comes after Actelion announced a series of changes to its management structure in June 2011, which included the appointment of Otto Schwarz as its new chief operating officer.
The makeup of its executive committee has also been amended, while several key executives have been handed additional responsibilities.
