Simplyhealth names new non-executive director
Simplyhealth has moved to support its future growth initiatives through the appointment of Tim Brooke as a new non-executive director.
Mr Brooke is a current managing director at consulting firm Protiviti and has extensive professional and financial service experience, having assisted in restoring Northern Rock to private ownership in 2009.
He will be tasked with providing strong corporate governance standards in support of Simplyhealth's strategic aims, coming at a time when the company is expanding in the private medical insurance sector.
This expansion will be driven primarily by its recent acquisition of Groupama Healthcare, making his expertise on issues such as risk management and internal audit vital.
Ian Maude, finance and technology director and board member at Simplyhealth, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Tim to Simplyhealth, as he is keenly sought for his opinion and trusted by boards and regulatory bodies."
This comes after the company won the award for best health cash plan provider at the 2011 Investment Life and Pensions Moneyfacts awards earlier this month.
