ALK Abello sees growth in first nine months of 2011
ALK Abello has published its interim report for the first nine months of 2011, during which it experienced better-than-expected levels of growth.
The healthcare company's revenue for the period came to 1.77 billion Danish kroner (204.29 million pounds), up by 14 percent year over year thanks primarily to contributions from its partners.
Vaccine sales rose by six percent compared to last year, while regions including France, Spain, the US and the Netherlands were highlighted for their strong performance.
Other notable achievements from the past year include the European launch of the Jext adrenaline pen and the planned US regulatory filing of the company's new ragweed allergy immunotherapy tablet.
ALK Abello now expects to achieve a revenue total of more than 2.3 billion kroner for the full year, with allergy vaccine sales growth of five percent.
This comes after chief executive officer Jens Bager told the Wall Street Journal in August 2011 that the company is confident in its current growth prospects, based on its recent performance and strong pipeline.
