Day Lewis outlines ambitious future growth plans

17th November 2011

Day Lewis managing director Kirit Patel has outlined plans to significantly increase the scope of the business in the coming years.

The business leader told attendees of the recent Day Lewis conference held in Brighton that the company is seeking to double in size over the next ten years.

"Despite the recession, we believe we are stronger and we are back in the buying market," he was reported as saying by Chemist and Druggist.

Mr Patel intends for the firm to bring its total number of pharmacies from 186 to 200 by the end of 2012, before purchasing 50 more over the coming decade.

A further 150 would be opened as joint ventures under a new partnership programme, which he told the publication last month will help newly qualified pharmacists to set up independent operations.

Day Lewis will also be aiming to continue driving retail sales upwards, while also making further investments into staff training schemes.

"Spending that money gets better compliance… it's nothing for the repayment that we get," he explained.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801214525-ADNFCR
