Day Lewis to develop online pharmacy store

24th November 2011

Day Lewis has announced a three million pound investment into its online pharmacy provider thehealthcounter.com.

According to industry publication Chemist and Druggist, the firm is keen to make the brand a trusted household name and become a "one-stop shop" for tackling ailments with the launch of an online doctor service.

The site will focus on providing high-quality advice to its subscribers, as well as selling more than 5,000 products and enabling patients to have their subscriptions filled.

"We don't want to cannibalise […] prices and we don't want to devalue our service," said Day Lewis managing director Kirit Patel.

As such, the firm is embarking on an extensive advertising campaign that will include ads on taxis and in the London Underground.

Day Lewis was founded in 1975 with just two stores in the south of England, before growing to become one of the largest pharmaceutical providers not just in the UK, but also in Europe.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801220660-ADNFCR
