GE Healthcare’s Mind campaign launches online

20th December 2011

GE Healthcare has announced the launch of a new online component of its Making an Impact on Neurodegenerative Diseases (Mind) awareness campaign.

The medical technology firm has introduced a new website, mindonlinecampaign.com, which will allow people whose lives have been affected by neurodegenerative disease to share their stories.

Mind is designed to identify shortfalls and new solutions for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disease, in association with expert bodies and individuals from around the world, including the UK.

It is hoped that the new website launch will help to inform the campaign on a grassroots level, with Alzheimer's Disease International welcoming its introduction as a positive step.

Pascale Witz, president and chief executive officer for medical diagnostics at GE Healthcare, said: "We are committed to improving things for patients and for caregivers, and will use our expertise and our voice to call on policymakers to act to alleviate the suffering caused by neurodegenerative disease."

Last week, the company announced a new alliance with M and W Group to support the creation of biopharmaceutical manufacturing plants in developing nations, a move that will further aid public health efforts worldwide.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801244828-ADNFCR
