Biotronik presents ProMRI-equipped devices at Heart Rhythm 2012

Biotronik is presenting its portfolio of ProMRI-equipped medical devices at the Heart Rhythm 2012 medical conference in Boston.

The company is attending the event in order to showcase its Lumax 740 implantable cardiac defibrillator and cardiac resynchronisation therapy defibrillator, and Evia HF-T cardiac resynchronisation therapy pacemaker, all of which are compatible with MRI scanning.

They allow tachycardia and heart failure patients to gain access to the benefits of MRI scans for the first time, while also providing a high standard of performance and reliability.

The manufacturer launched the Evia HF-T device in Europe last month, thereby completing the line-up for its advanced bradycardia product portfolio.

It allows patients to be more effectively diagnosed for conditions such as brain tumours and arthritis, without fear of the scanning equipment interfering with their pacemakers.
