SIGH to launch BOWA bipolar and monopolar cables in UK

Surgical Instrument Group Holdings (SIGH) is allying with Caterham Surgical to release a durable and cost-effective range of bipolar and monopolar cables in the UK.

The companies have secured exclusive UK rights to launch the new cables, which are compatible for use with the majority of generators on the market and have been optimised to be longer-lasting than most alternatives.

Using a combination of silicone-strengthened cables, glass fibre-reinforced plugs and a unique sealing technology, the BOWA products are able to significantly reduce typical damage caused by fluid ingress.

In doing so, they can offer a minimum of 300 autoclavings, compared to an average of 40 or 50 autoclavings for most other instrument cables.

Martin Watts, a director of Caterham Surgical, said: "No other bipolar or monopolar lead can match BOWA for durability, cost per unit and value for money."

SIGH's product range also includes offerings from manufacturers such as Lawton, Riley Medical, Cuda Fiberoptics, Sharn Anesthesia and Valeplan.
