Gore receives CE Mark for new Excluder AAA components

4th December 2012

WL Gore and Associates (Gore) has announced that new large diameter components for the Gore Excluder AAA Endoprosthesis have been approved by EU regulators.

The manufacturer has received CE Mark accreditation for large diameter 35 mm trunk-ipsilateral leg and 36 mm aortic extender components, based on their proven effectiveness in treating abdominal aortic aneurysms.

They are the first products in Gore's portfolio to reduce access vessel requirements, offering compatibility with the Gore DrySeal Sheath and providing one of the lowest profiles for treating infrarenal aortic necks measuring up to 32 mm in diameter.

Developed in collaboration with leading endovascular aneurysm repair physicians, more than 135,000 Excluder units have been distributed worldwide to date.

Ryan Takeuchi, Gore's aortic business leader, said: "By expanding our sizing options to include larger anatomies, Gore now offers a complete range of sizes to treat differing anatomies with the preferred infrarenal placement."

This comes after the firm received European CE Mark approval for its award-winning Gore Hybrid Vascular Graft earlier this year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801500366-ADNFCR
