Alliance Boots outlines plans to redevelop Nottingham site

5th December 2012

Alliance Boots is gearing up to carry out its first major redevelopment programme at its site in Beeston, Nottingham, which was granted Enterprise Zone status last year.

The company has confirmed that it has commenced discussions with the Department for Communities and Local Government, Nottingham City Council and local enterprise partnership D2N2 over the plans.

It is expected that this will result in the redevelopment of site infrastructure – including land preparation and remediation activities – to help prepare the location for commercial use.

Work is expected to commence in 2013, creating job opportunities across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, while attracting new business to the region.

Stefano Pessina, executive chairman at Alliance Boots, said: "Nottingham is, as always, extremely important to us. Our proposed investment in the Enterprise Zone further illustrates our commitment to the region and the UK as a whole."

This comes at a time when the company is greatly expanding its international capabilities through a new partnership with US drug store giant Walgreens announced earlier this year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801501606-ADNFCR
