Sanofi to showcase new drugs at ASH annual meeting

Sanofi has announced plans to present data on a number of its established and developmental drugs at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting in Atlanta.

The company will attend the event from December 8th to 11th 2012 to present 178 abstracts, including the unveiling of its investigational selective JAK2 inhibitor SAR302503.

It is intended for the treatment of the three main types of myeloproliferative neoplasm: primary myelofibrosis, polycythaemia vera and essential thrombocythaemia, with a phase III trial of the drug currently ongoing.

New data will also be announced on marketed therapies such as Clolar/Evoltra, Elitek, Mozobil and Thymoglobuline, all of which are approved in more than 40 countries across the world.

Dr Debasish Roychowdhury, senior vice-president and head of Sanofi Oncology, said: "We have a strong commitment to developing treatment solutions for patients with difficult-to-treat blood cancers where there remains unmet medical need."

Earlier this month, a new collaboration between Sanofi and Selecta Biosciences will be announced, focusing on the development of new allergy therapies.
