PerkinElmer launches assays for drug safety testing

12th December 2012

PerkinElmer has announced the launch of a new range of assay kits for use in safety testing, manufacturing and quality control of biotherapeutic drugs.

The new AlphaLISA no-wash immunoassay kits enable quick and simple detection of drug impurities and toxic effects, achieving higher-quality results than existing Elisa technology in half the time.

This is accomplished thanks to a simple protocol with fewer assay steps, resulting in better inter and intra-assay precision, greatly improved coefficient of variations and easier method transfer to downstream departments.

Kevin Hrusovsky, president for life sciences and technology at PerkinElmer, said: "We are very excited to enable our customers to improve the safety and efficacy of new biotherapeutic drugs being developed through our new assay kits which are the latest addition to our growing biotherapeutics portfolio."

This comes after the company recently introduced the latest version of inForm, its patented automated software for accurately quantifying biomarker expression in tumours and surrounding tissues.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801505593-ADNFCR
