Simplyhealth makes donation to armed forces charity
Simplyhealth has made a charitable contribution to SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association Forces Help) from the proceeds of a recent dress down day.
The dental and health insurer provided 1,500 pounds in support funding to the charity's Hampshire branch, which will go towards the provision of practical and emotional assistance to anyone that is currently serving or has ever served in the Army, Navy or RAF and their families.
With a trained staff and network of 7,500 volunteers across the UK, the not-for-profit organisation has helped support around 44,000 people, including 1,466 veterans in Hampshire.
This is indicative of the insurance firm's commitment to initiatives that benefit local communities.
Mark Day, spokesperson for Simplyhealth's Andover Community Fund, said: "The armed forces have a big presence in and around Andover and we are pleased that our donation will help SSAFA to continue its great work in the area."
Last month, the company won the best healthcare insurance provider award at the 2012/13 Personal Finance Awards for the third consecutive year.
