BDTA recognises former Claudius Ash/Henry Schein veteran
The British Dental Trade Association (BDTA) has presented an award to industry veteran Tony Anderson in recognition of his achievements over a 50-year career.
Mr Anderson was selected as this year's winner of the BDTA Award for outstanding contribution to dentistry, thanks to the influential role he has played in shaping the Irish dental market.
He was first hired as a junior in sales and advertising with Claudius Ash almost five decades ago and progressed to a leadership role in one of the largest dental dealers in the country, eventually retiring from his role as managing director of Henry Schein's Irish business earlier this year.
During his career, he helped to relocate and rebuild a bombed-out surgery practice in Coleraine and was named president of the Association of the Irish Dental Industry, placing great emphasis on personal relationships with customers.
The BDTA said he "has helped to transform the Irish dental market into one that offers dentists a full range of products and with higher levels of service".
This accolade was presented at last month's British Dental Association (BDA) Honours and Awards Dinner, where it was also announced that BDTA executive director Tony Reed has been awarded entry on the BDA Roll of Distinction.
