Align Technology launches Invisalign Outcome Simulator

Align Technology has announced the launch of Invisalign Outcome Simulator, an intraoral scanning application designed to help patients visualise treatment benefits with Invisalign.

Representing the company's first Invisalign chairside application powered by the iTero and iOC scanners, it uses a dual view layout to show an image of patients' current dentition, next to an extrapolation of how their teeth may look after Invisalign treatment.

It is quick and easy to use and may be viewed chairside, on the scanner or from a computer, with intuitive tools allowing doctors to make real-time adjustments to individual teeth during consultations.

The product is the only Invisalign chairside intraoral scanning application on the market and will help to increase the likelihood of patients accepting treatment.

Greg Morrow, Align Technology's vice-president and general manager of Invisalign, said the device can be used "to reveal a customised potential Invisalign outcome, thereby engendering more Invisalign treatment choices for patients".

This comes after the company introduced SmartTrack, a new Invisalign clear aligner material, in October 2012.
