Sartorius manager elected to Rx-360 consortium’s board
Sartorius has announced that a member of its management team has been elected to the board of directors of Rx-360, the international pharmaceutical supply chain consortium.
Alan Burns, vice-president of quality management at the company's Sartorius Stedium Biotech division, has been appointed for a three-year term on the not-for-profit organisation's board, alongside six other industry representatives.
Rx-360's key aims are to improve the security of the pharmaceutical supply chain and to assure the quality and authenticity of the products created by companies in the sector.
Its activities include sharing information on relevant new legislation, raising awareness of counterfeiting and theft, developing voluntary quality standards and implementing new auditing systems.
Mr Burns will serve alongside respected industry professionals such as Rx-360 chair Brian Johnson, the senior director of supply chain security at Pfizer, as well as vice-chair Guy Villax, chief executive of Hovione.
This appointment is indicative of Sartorius' status as one of the world's leading providers of laboratory and process technologies and equipment.
