Align Technology launches SmartTrack aligner material

Align Technology has announced the commercial availability of SmartTrack, its next-generation Invisalign clear aligner material, across North America, Europe and other international markets.

Representing the new standard aligner material for Invisalign clear aligner products, SmartTrack has been designed to provide more constant force than conventional materials over the entire two-week usage period of Invisalign.

It can conform precisely to tooth morphology, attachments and interproximal spaces while also being highly elastic, thus making it easier to insert and remove aligners and improving patient comfort levels.

Data from a study of more than 1,000 Invisalign patients showed a statistically significant improvement in control of tooth movements when using SmartTrack.

The new product launch will help increase the appeal of Invisalign, a proprietary and highly successful method for treating malocclusion, or the misalignment of teeth.

It follows the recent introduction of the Invisalign Outcome Simulator, a chairside application designed to help patients better visualise treatment benefits with Invisalign.
