ResMed continues record-breaking performance in latest quarter

ResMed has published its financial results for the second quarter of its 2012-13 business year, during which it was able to maintain its record-breaking momentum.

The medical technology firm's revenue for the three-month period ending on December 31st 2012 came to $376.5 million (239.44 million pounds), a 13 percent year-on-year improvement, while its net income rose by 24 percent to $77.9 million.

Revenue for the first six months of ResMed's latest business year are up to a record $716.3 million, thanks to strong growth both within and outside the US, while demand for higher-value flow generators such as the S9 Autoset and S9 bilevels has been observed.

Dr Peter Farrell, chairman and chief executive officer of ResMed, said: "We had a solid quarter across the board and we believe we are in the early stages of an exciting market dynamic for sleep-disordered breathing, which we have been pioneering for many years."
