Burson-Marsteller appoints new healthcare practice chief

Burson-Marsteller has announced it has appointed David Zitlow as its US chair of healthcare practice.

The global public relations and communications firm, which has also recruited Lisa Davidson as US deputy chair, confirmed Mr Zitlow will report to the organisation's US chief executive officer Dave DenHerder as part of his new role.

Mr Zitlow will also continue to work alongside Helene Ellison, Burson-Marstelle's global chair of healthcare – to provide the seamless delivery of expertise across the globe.

His promotion comes three months after he joined the company to lead the healthcare teams in the west and midwest regions of the US.

Commenting on the new appointments, Mr DenHerder said: "I am confident that their depth of knowledge and leadership will ensure that our healthcare clients receive best-in-class, results-oriented communications counsel."

Last month, Burson-Marsteller recruited public relations industry veteran Michael Law as its US president who will work closely with Mr DenHerder to secure new business and expand existing clients.
