DiaSorin adds Aldosterone assay to Liason group
DiaSorin has announced the launch of the Aldosterone assay on its Liason analyzers family.
This product – which has been created for the quantitative determination of Aldosterone in human serum, urine samples and EDTA plasma – makes use of chemiluminescent immunoassay technology.
Professionals intend to use measurements of Aldosterone to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of a number of ailments, including primary aldosteronism, selective hypoaldosteronism and edematous states.
It is hoped that by adding this assay to its liason analyzer group, DiaSorin will enable customers to be able to combat hypertension – a condition that is likely to become increasingly prevalent as a rising number of people become affected by high blood pressure.
Uncontrolled or untreated hypertension can lead to serious health issues such as heart attacks, strokes and kidney failure.
Carlo Rosa, chief executive officer of DiaSorin, said he is "really proud" of this development, as it underlines the organisation's commitment to tackling hypertension.
