Synergy Health creates new Reusable Surgical Solutions Division
Synergy Health has launched a new division with the aim of improving surgical outcomes and doctor/patient safety, it has emerged.
Following its acquisition of SRI/Surgical Express, the organisation has created its Reusable Surgical Solutions (RSS) division in order to enhance the safety levels in American hospitals through the use of eco-friendly surgical textiles that can be reused.
The RSS programme involves the recovery and delivery of surgical linen from hospitals on a daily basis and then sterilises and re-processes them at one of its nine facilities that are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
Divisional president of Synergy Health Bill Braun commented: "By switching to reusable gowns, towels [and] drapes, hospitals can maximise patient safety while saving money on landfill charges and improving their environmental performance."
Mr Braun went on to say RSS represents a sustainable solution for groups looking to revamp its processes in this area that also makes strong financial sense.
