Smith & Nephew posts improved revenue figures

8th February 2013

Smith & Nephew has announced improved revenue figures for 2012.

The London-based global medical technology firm revealed yesterday (February 7th 2013) that it posted underlying revenue growth of 4.13 billion dollars (2.6 billion pounds) throughout the year – a two per cent rise when compared to 2011.

Meanwhile, the group's year-on-year trading profit increased by six percent to 965 million, with its profit margin climbing to 23.3 percent thanks to the success of its restructuring of strategic priorities.

Indeed, the organisation indicated that it is on track to achieve annual savings of 150 million dollars by 2014.

Oliver Bohuon, chief executive officer of Smith & Nephew, said his company "finished the year strongly" thanks to the fact its "underlying quarter four revenue and trading profit" improved.

"Our confidence in continued strategic progress, coupled with our financial strength, is reflected in the significant 50 percent uplift in our 2012 dividends," he added. ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801537523-ADNFCR
