B Braun launches new abdominal wall health app

B Braun has announced the launch of a new app on abdominal wall health for doctors, nursing staff and patients.

The new smart device application offers complete and up-to-date guidance on medical issues pertaining to this field and information about relevant products and services from B Braun, ranging from consulting to technical services.

It offers a comprehensive assortment of data in an intuitive manner, including an overview of basic surgical/laparoscopic instruments for each indication, information on AWH Aesculap Academy courses and a short market survey when contacting B Braun.

Around ten million operations combining open abdominal and hernia repair procedures are carried out in the US and Europe each year, with complications associated with this type of surgery becoming a key medical issue.

Miguel Pablo, vice-president for marketing and sales closure technologies at B Braun, said: "Our goal at B Braun is not only to work on repairing the abdominal wall but also to ensure its functionality and health for patients in a minimal invasive manner."

This follows the launch of a new B Braun website offering guidance for patients living with kidney dialysis earlier this month.
