Sanofi company Genzyme wins award for rare disease innovations
Sanofi's Genzyme subsidiary has earned an industry accolade in recognition of its contributions and accomplishments in the field of rare diseases.
EURORDIS, the largest European patient organisation in the field of rare diseases, has presented Genzyme with a company award for pioneering the development and delivery of rare disease therapies.
The pharmaceuticals firm won praise for its longstanding support of patient organisations Such as EURORDIS and the initiatives it has launched to increase patient access to Genzyme treatments.
Rogerio Vivaldi, Genzyme's head of rare diseases, said: "Genzyme wants to thank all of the patient organisations and communities who work daily to improve the lives of patients living with rare diseases."
This award was presented to coincide with Rare Disease Day, which took place on February 28th 2013 and was designed to raise awareness of rare conditions and help coordinate policy action in different countries.
