Kimberly-Clark named among world’s most ethical companies for 2013
Kimberly-Clark has been recognised for its governance, citizenship and sustainability practices with a place in the Ethisphere Institute's ranking of the world's most ethical companies.
The international thinktank evaluated hundreds of companies to compile this list, assessing criteria such as ethical codes, track records of litigation or regulatory infractions, investments in innovation, corporate initiatives and supporting nominations from industry stakeholders.
Kimberly-Clark earned its place in the ranking after a year in which it was also named as one of the world's best multinational workplaces by the Great Place to Work Institute and listed as the top-rated consumer goods company in Newsweek's 2012 Green Rankings.
Tom Falk, chairman and chief executive officer of Kimberly-Clark, said: "This distinction from Ethisphere reflects on the actions of more than 58,000 Kimberly-Clark employees worldwide who pursue authenticity, accountability, innovation and caring in countless business decisions every day."
Last month, it was announced that the company's GoodNites and Poise brands had claimed prizes in the children's care and feminine wellness categories at the 2013 Product of the Year awards, which are voted upon by US consumers.
