GlaxoSmithKline publishes corporate responsibility study
GlaxoSmithKline has published its corporate responsibility report which outlines its advances made on agenda during 2012.
As part of the report, the pharmaceutical company reiterates its dedication to promoting safe and sustainable methods of working, which it states are central to the organisation's development.
The document also features 23 commitments for the future, which are aligned with core areas of strategic focus – including access to medicines, transparency and environmental sustainability.
Scientific innovation was highlighted among the highlights of the 2012 report after the company invested £3.5 billion in core research and development during the 12-month period.
On top of this, GlaxoSmithKline noted it is actively working to make its medicines and vaccines as accessible as possible for individuals around the world who require them.
The company's chief executive officer Sir Andrew Witty said: "We are setting out new long-term commitments which will allow those outside the company to track our progress and hold us to account more effectively."
