Systagenix and Sorbion announce wound dressing partnership

Systagenix and Sorbion have agreed a distribution deal for a super-absorbent wound dressing product that will be marketed under Systagenix branding.

This agreement will allow Systagenix to capitalise on the rapid growth of this product category, with this type of dressing becoming increasingly sought-after as a solution for fluid management in moderate to highly exuding wounds.

Craig Kennedy, vice-president of business development  at Systagenix, said: "Sorbion is a market leader in the super-absorbent category and Systagenix will have access to their Hydration Response Technology, which helps provide an ideal environment for moist wound healing."

This technology has been optimised to provide woundcare stakeholders with a simple and cost-effective means of improving treatment results.

Sorbion also benefits from the arrangement, as it means that its products will be made more widely available through Systagenix's global distribution network, which spans more than 70 countries.

Later this month, Systagenix will be discussing the benefits of its woundcare products at the annual European Wound Management Association conference.
