Merck Millipore launches new chromatin immunoprecipitation kits
Merck Millipore has announced the launch of a range of new chromatin immunoprecipitation kits for use in various life science applications.
The Magna ChIP HiSens kits are designed to provide superior enrichment and detection of specific regions of chromatin-associated DNA, with the standard set to be complemented by an EZ-Magna ChIP HiSens product that also includes positive and negative control antibodies and a validated qPCR primer set.
Enabling target chromatin enrichment from both low and high amounts of input chromatin, the kits provide advantages such as low backgrounds, high signal-to-noise ratios and ultra-sensitive detection, while being suitable for a wide range of input amounts.
Merck Millipore's new product has been benchmarked against a number of other low-input ChIP kits and demonstrated a superior performance.
The company said: "After strictly following the protocols for all kits evaluated, the Magna ChIP HiSens kit showed significantly higher performance as measured by fold enrichment and background levels than competitor kits."
According to the Merck KGaA group's financial report earlier this month, Merck Millipore experienced a 2.5 percent year-on-year increase in sales during the first quarter of 2013.
