Agilent launches new range of verified dissolution components

20th May 2013

Agilent Technologies has announced the launch of a new range of verified dissolution components for the pharmaceutical market.

The new tools include moulded vessels as well as paddle and basket shafts and are designed to aid the process of dissolution, used within the pharmaceutical industry to determine the rate at which pure active pharmaceutical ingredients dissolve.

They have been designed to ensure compliance with mechanical qualification guidelines and offer verification of their adherence to exact specifications.

Agilent's moulded vessels are vacuum-formed around a set of mandrils to eliminate the flaws associated with traditional hand-blown manufacturing, while the verified paddle and basket shafts are certified for traceability with an individual certificate of conformance.

Allan Little, director of marketing for dissolution systems at Agilent, said: "To better support the qualification needs of our customers, it was critical for Agilent to offer improved options for component verification and traceability."

Last week, the company announced that it will be increasing its stock repurchase programme to $1 billion (656.78 million pounds) and carrying out a reorganisation of its business structure.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801587929-ADNFCR
