Agilent launches new RapidFire 365 MS system

11th June 2013

Agilent Technologies has announced the introduction of the new RapidFire 365 High-throughput Mass Spectrometry (MS) System, which comes with a range of new features and applications.

Offering increased plate capacity and full integration with Agilent's BenchBot Robot automation technology, the new device has been optimised to enhance productivity for researchers working on drug discovery, clinical research and forensic toxicology.

It is fully compatible with Agilent's entire line of MS devices and can run unattended for up to 60 hours, analysing multiple assays in a single run and automating method development for novel analytes.

The system is also capable of identifying active compounds against challenging targets, confirming drug activity or assessing key absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination and physiochemical properties.

Dr Can Ozbal, director of RapidFire operations at Agilent, said: "The RapidFire 365 brings us closer to our vision of creating a label-free MS-based workflow that rivals the simplicity of a plate reader while avoiding the pitfalls of optical assays."

Last month, the firm announced a new technology alliance with Shimadzu that will see the companies exchanging RapidControl.Net instrument drivers.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801597629-ADNFCR
