Source BioScience launches overnight DNA sequencing for Scotland

Source BioScience is extending its market-leading DNA sequencing and data analysis offering with the introduction of an overnight service for the Scottish market.

Available to research groups in and around Edinburgh and Glasgow, the service allows customers to receive back their sequencing results by 09:00 the next morning – including on Saturdays – at no additional cost.

Source introduced this offering in London, Cambridge and the Midlands in 2011 and it has proven a significant success, allowing the firm to expand the reach of the scheme to Berlin and Dublin.

Combining the company's world-class sequencing capabilities with its unique SpeedREAD automated data delivery system, it provides clients with benefits such as free sample collection and rapid delivery of results.

Dr Nick Ash, chief executive officer at Source BioScience, said the company "looks forward to broadening the reach of this service even further, enabling more customers to access the benefits of overnight sequencing".

This comes after Source acquired the Scottish diagnostic kit and blood group serology reagent manufacturer Inverclyde Biologicals for 1.6 million pounds earlier this year.
