Greiner Bio-One launches new CELLreactor size option

Greiner Bio-One has announced the launch of a new 15 ml size format for CELLreactor, in addition to the existing 50 ml option.

Introducing this new format will improve the flexibility of working volumes, with the filter top tubes being made of polypropylene, thus making them ideal for use as small bioreactors for cultivating suspension cells and bacteria.

CELLreactor is part of the CELLSTAR product line and can be used for the expansion of cells and aerobic microorganisms – such as bacteria and yeast – as well as substances that require gas exchange during storage.

Since liquids are mixed using standard laboratory shakers, the system circumvents the need for internal stirrers, while a conical design means the tubes fit into all standard 15 ml centrifuge rotors and cells can be sedimented directly within.

Greiner Bio-One said: "This eliminates the need for time-consuming transfer to other cell culture tubes for the cell harvest."

Earlier this week, the firm announced that its Frickenhausen site has received DIN EN ISO 50001 certification status, recognising the quality of its energy management initiatives.
