Smith and Nephew and United Drug announce UK partnership

21st June 2013

Smith and Nephew has announced a new strategic partnership for the UK between its advanced wound management division and fellow healthcare company United Drug Medical.

Designed to support and promote the IV3000 range of cannula dressings, the alliance will see United Drug Medical take over responsibility for sales, customer service and distribution of the product range in Britain.

This will provide IV3000 customers with access to increased levels of support and resources – with a new emphasis on in-use training and education – while the companies are also working together on new product developments pertaining to the brand.

Andy Boyes, European president for advanced wound management at Smith and Nephew, said: "These improvements … are designed to improve both the application and performance of the dressing during wear, as well as helping reduce the human and economic cost of intravenous site care."

Last month, Smith and Nephew announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2013, during which it achieved a revenue total of $1.08 billion (701.78 million pounds), up by one percent on an underlying basis.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801602697-ADNFCR
