Merck Millipore launches Cellvento CHO-200 medium

24th June 2013

Merck Millipore has announced the launch of Cellvento CHO-200, a chemically-defined cell culture medium of non-animal origin.

Designed to provide robust cell growth and consistent high performance, the new medium is optimised specifically for fed-batch processes using Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell types expressing monoclonal antibodies.

Since Cellvento CHO-200 and its corresponding feeds do not contain hydrolysates or components of unknown composition, it can provide good lot-to-lot consistency, while it supports high cell density growth and extended culture duration, plus long duration of high cell viability.

These attributes facilitate the production of high-protein titers, resulting in strong productivity and product quality.

Dr Antoine Heron, head of biopharmaceutical materials and technologies, said: "The new Cellvento CHO-200 medium expands our existing CHO medium offerings, allowing us to fully support our customers as they switch to the production mode of operation."

Earlier this month, the firm launched its new PluriSTEM Human ES/iPS Medium for the development of human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801603290-ADNFCR
