Ketchum to promote The Million Pound Startup

Ketchum has been hired to promote a new competition that will be providing funding for digital and technology businesses establishing themselves in and around London.

The Million Pound Startup initiative is backed by the Tech City Investment Organisation, the Mayor of London and London and Partners, with the aim of establishing the British capital as a centre for tech-oriented businesses, reports PRWeek.

Following the contract win, Ketchum London will coordinate with backers and partners of the scheme and publicise the shortlisted entrants, finalists and eventual winner, in partnership with event organiser Digital Shoreditch.

Open to companies with less than 100 million pounds in turnover that have been trading for less than ten years, the Million Pound Startup provides firms with opportunities to win one million pounds of funding, using a combination of angel funding, institutional capital and equity crowdfunding.

The entry deadline for the contest is August 29th 2013, with the winner due to be selected in December.
