Simplyhealth hits Heart Research UK fundraising target
Simplyhealth has announced that it has met its 150,000 pound fundraising target for Heart Research UK.
The dental and health insurer recently completed its first integrated media campaign, which utilised TV and radio advertising, social media and PR to raise awareness of the potential link between poor oral health and cardiovascular disease.
For every Like Simplyhealth received on its Facebook page during the campaign period, it donated one pound to the heart health charity, with almost 100,000 pounds of the final total to be provided to the University of Sheffield and Taunton and Somerset NHS Trust for vital research.
The remainder will fund community initiatives to educate schoolchildren on the importance of dental health.
Clare Lee, head of brand, PR and digital at Simplyhealth, said: "We would like to thank everyone who supported our campaign by liking our Facebook page and who helped us turn the need for this important research study into a reality."
Earlier this month, the company offered 185,000 pounds to the World Cancer Research Fund to support new scientific studies of oral cancer.
