Gore Septal Occluder wins design excellence awards
WL Gore and Associates (Gore) has earned recognition for its Gore Septal Occluder at the 2013 Medical Design Excellence Awards.
The CE Mark-accredited device earned the title of best in show at the event, while also claiming a gold award in the implant and tissue replacement products category.
Integrating innovative material and design elements, the device represents a treatment option in which the discs are designed to conform to the anatomy of the individual patient, while its soft, strong and conformable membrane improves closure performance.

Dr Bob Gore, chairman of the board at Gore, said: "I know how much thought and effort have gone into creating the Gore Septal Occluder, so I enthusiastically congratulate the Gore team."
